New Jeans was named into the 10th group of 'Billboard's Greatest Pop Stars of 2023' announced by US Billboard on the 8th (local time). The list, selected by Billboard staff, includes prominent pop stars such as Troye Sivan, Travis Scott, Zach Bryan and Jungkook.
'Super Shy' was ranked No. 2 in the '50 best songs of 2023' recently announced by British magazine NME. This is the highest ranking of any K-pop product on this list and the highest ranking of any K-pop product of all time.
NME introduces: "The song perfectly embodies femininity, simultaneously exuding confidence and shyness, making you feel like you're enjoying the most exhilarating pop trip of your life in just two minutes thirty seconds".
In addition, "Super Shy" is also the only K-pop song included in the "Best Songs of 2023" by British daily newspaper The Guardian and American Pitchfork magazine, with rankings of 3 and 7 respectively. 'Super Shy' is the first K-pop work to be voted Pitchfork's year-end 'Best Song'.
Additionally, 'Super Shy' ranked No. 2 in UK i-D, No. 6 in US RollingStone, No. 10 in US Vulture, No. 17 in UK Crack, No. 21 in Canada's Exclaim!, etc. The song received attention as the only K-pop work selected and ranked highest in 'Best Songs of 2023' by many media outlets.
