[The Fact|Reporter Park Ji-yoon] Director Kim Tae-yong presents another life-long movie to the audience.
Director Kim Tae-yong's 'Family Ties' (2006), which explains the true meaning and relationships of family in a cheerful and simple way, and 'Family Ties', which depicts the short but intense love of three days between a man and a woman who have reached a dead end in life, set in Seattle. ‘Late Autumn’ (2011) drew favorable reviews from critics and audiences. Afterwards, he returned to the screen for the first time in a long time with the feature film 'Wonderland', raising expectations.
The work depicts the story of reuniting with a loved one through 'Wonderland', a video call service that restores dead people with artificial intelligence.
Director Kim Tae-yong, who said he was inspired by 'Wonderland' from the video calls he frequently used, expected combining the imagination of making video calls with a dead person into a story that everyone can relate to, such as separation from a loved one. In addition, a qualified casting lineup was established with actors Tang Wei, Suzy, Park Bo-gum, Jung Yu-mi, and Choi Woo-sik, drawing even more attention.
Suzy said, “I created emotional lines that couldn’t be explained in words through many conversations with the director,” Park Bo-gum said, “He expresses the stories of various characters warmly and emotionally with a delicate perspective,” and Jung Yu-mi said, “Even without speaking, I was able to express my will.” He expressed his strong faith, saying, “I can become a successful director.”
Director Kim Tae-yong, who returned to feature films after a long time, delicately depicts the expanded relationships between people and their varied emotions based on a world where artificial intelligence has become commonplace, giving audiences an opportunity to reflect on their lives and precious relationships.
