Agency Pledis Entertainment announced on the 28th, "On the 26th, Seventeen donated 'funds to create a global educational environment' to the Korean National Commission for UNESCO on the occasion of their debut anniversary." .
This donation will be used to spread #Going Together, an educational campaign carried out by Seventeen and the Korean National Commission for UNESCO, and to organize the 'UNESCO International Forum on the Future of Education' to discuss future education.
Seventeen expressed their warm feelings through the management company: "We are very grateful and rewarded to participate in such a meaningful event on the occasion of our debut anniversary, just like our birthday."
Seventeen debuted on May 26, 2015 and continues to engage in various forms of donation activities. In particular, they had shared and spread good influence to those in difficult circumstances in education, abused children, and vulnerable children and adolescents around the world.
Additionally, Seventeen is promoting the importance of education to the world by carrying out the Korean National Commission for UNESCO campaign starting in August 2022. As part of this effort, they have achieved important results, including the reconstruction of education in Malawi, Africa and the establishment of two learning centers in East Timor.
In addition, the members were also the first K-pop artists to have exclusive access to a special session at the 13th 'UNESCO Youth Forum' held at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, France in September.
