On the 13th, Mnet released a trailer for 'Stage Fighter', a new dance entertainment program in 2024. Mnet has previously been at the forefront of popularizing street dance in Korea. Through the 'Street Fighter' series, this time chose the K-classic dance genre.
‘Stage Fighter’ is a survival dance competition between male dancers. Male dancers from ballet, modern dance and Korean dance express messages through their bodies engaging in a class war.
Through this competition, professional dancers will demonstrate epic group dance performances by combining pure choreography with popular elements. Above all, there are high expectations for the dancers to reveal their unique charisma through dance that highlights dynamic technique and delicate expressions.
'Stage Fighter' is a new dance show from Mnet's Kwon Young-chan and Choi Jeong-nam, who are credited with creating a new street dance ecosystem, including 'Street Woman Fighter' , 'Street Man Fighter' and 'Street Woman' Fighter 2', the world's first show to feature dancers as main characters.
Starting with Season 1 of 'Street Woman Fighter' in 2021, Mnet continues to introduce 'Street Man Fighter', 'Street Dance Girls Fighter' and 'Street Woman Fighter 2'. From male dancers to teenage female dancers and cross-border dance groups, sideline dancers are considered the main characters who shine on stage, creating a new Korean cultural icon.
Mnet PD Kwon Young-chan and Choi Jeong-nam, who is in charge of the show, once again teamed up for 'Stage Fighter'. Accordingly, much attention is focused on 'Stage Fighter', which will expand the scope of the dance series with male dancers. ‘Stage Fighter’ is scheduled to air on Mnet in September.
