[The Fact|Reporter Park Ji-yoon] Soloist Kwon Eun-bi walks the red carpet of the film festival as an actress.
On the 27th, her agency Woollim Entertainment said, "Kwon Eun-bi will be participating in the 28th Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN) with the Japanese film 'Stolen Identity: The Last Hacker'. I will appear on the red carpet,” she said.
Kwon Eun-bi takes on acting for the first time in 'The Last Hacker', the final installment of her 'Stolen Identity' series, which is a film adaptation of Japanese author Akira Shiga's original novel.
She will play the role of Sumin, a black-haired beauty surrounded by mystery. Director Hideo Nakata praised Kwon Eun-bi, saying, "Kwon Eun-bi did an excellent job of expressing emotions in Japanese and expressing her body dynamically," raising expectations for her performance even more.
The 'Stolen Identity' series captivated more than 1.5 million viewers when it was first released in 2018 and was a huge hit, earning more than 1.9 billion yen (about 17.2 billion won) in box office revenue. The sequel, 'Stolen Identity 2', released in 2020, was a box office success, exceeding 900,000 viewers even when theaters were closed due to COVID-19.
Attention is focused on whether 'Final Hacking Game', scheduled to be released on November 1, will be able to continue the series' reputation and become another box office hit.
Among these, 'Final Hacking Game' was officially invited to the 28th Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival held in Bucheon, Gyeonggi-do for 11 days from July 4th to 14th. The Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival is Asia's largest genre film festival and is considered one of the three major film festivals in Korea along with the Busan International Film Festival and Jeonju International Film Festival.
At this year’s Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival, 255 long and short films from 49 countries will be shown. ‘Final Hacking Game’ was invited in recognition of director Hideo Nakata’s skills. It was listed as one of 15 new films in Mad MaxX, a section where you can see new works by masters and mid-level writers who are leading genre films around the world.
Accordingly, Kwon Eun-bi plans to attend the opening ceremony held at the Bucheon Arts Center on July 4th, the first day of the film festival, and walk the red carpet. She continues her 'hard work' as a singer by releasing her second single 'SABOTAGE' on the 18th, and attention is being paid to what kind of performance she will show as an actor.
