[The Fact|Reporter Park Ji-yoon] BTS Jin is heading to the ‘2024 Paris Olympics’.
Big Hit Music, the agency, announced on the 3rd (KST), "Jin will be a torchbearer for the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics, which will be held on the 27th." Although the specific schedule has not yet been revealed, Jin plans to participate as torchbearer and spread the message of 'harmony' and 'peace'.
BTS is called a '21st century pop icon' and is radiating an irreplaceable presence around the world. Having established themselves as global artists, they have delivered two speeches at the UN General Assembly and are practicing their positive influence through the 'LOVE MYSELF' campaign, which has been running with the Korean Committee for UNICEF since 2017.
The '2024 Paris Summer Olympics' began in Olympia, Greece, in April and will travel to 64 regions, including downtown France and beaches, until the day of the event. Accordingly, Jin will tour historic places symbolizing the host country along with the torchbearers.
Jin completed his active-duty military service and was discharged on the 12th of last month. He immediately attended the '2024 FESTA', an annual festival held in commemoration of BTS's debut date (June 13th), and made precious memories by giving free hugs and sharing various stories with fans.
In addition, he has continued to engage in various activities after being discharged from the military, including appearing on MBC's entertainment program 'It's a Good Thing to Rest' and even participating as a torchbearer for the '2024 Paris Olympics.'
Following Jin, J-Hope is scheduled to be discharged on October 17, RM and V are scheduled to be discharged on June 10, 2025, and Jimin and Jungkook are scheduled to be discharged on June 11, 2025. Suga, a social worker, will be discharged on June 21, 2025, and the full BTS is expected to meet in the second half of 2025.
