[The FactㅣReporter Kim Saet-byeol] Girl roup (G)I-DLE apologized after controversy arose for using the Korean Red Cross logo on music broadcast stage costumes without permission.
Cube Entertainment, the agency, said on the 22nd, "We were aware that there was a problem with the stage costumes of (G)I-DLE's 'Klaxon' on the KBS2 music program 'Music Bank' that aired on the 19th, and contacted the Korean Red Cross to apologize and take follow-up measures to prevent recurrence.
“We would like to once again apologize to everyone involved for the inconvenience caused. We are sincerely grateful to the fans who always show a lot of interest and support for (G)I-DLE.”
Previously, (G)I-DLE appeared on the 'Music Bank' stage wearing lifeguard concept costumes with the Korean Red Cross symbol on them. Afterwards, criticism was raised that the Red Cross emblem was used without the consent of the Korean Red Cross.
According to Article 25 of the Korean Red Cross Organizational Act (Prohibition of Use of the Red Cross Emblem, etc.), anyone other than the Red Cross, a military medical institution, or a person who has received approval for use from the Red Cross may not use the Red Cross emblem for business or promotional purposes. If you violate this, you will be subject to a fine of up to 10 million won.
In response, netizens pointed out, "You must not use the Red Cross mark for commercial purposes. It is common all over the world," "Unauthorized use of the Red Cross mark is against the law," and "It is thoughtless and rude."
