'Begin Again', celebrating its 10th anniversary, records 2nd place

[The Fact | Reporter Park Ji-yoon] 'I, the Executioner' continues its unrivaled box office run.
According to the integrated computer network of the Korean Film Council on the 23rd, 'I, the Executioner' (director Ryu Seung-wan) captured 914,547 viewers from the 20th to the 22nd, taking first place at the box office. The cumulative number of viewers is 5,601,205.
'I, the Executioner', which was released on the 13th, surpassed 5 million viewers in just 9 days since its release. This is faster than 'Exhuma' (10th), 'The Roundup' (10th), and '12.12: The Day' (14th), which surpassed 10 million viewers, so attention is focused on what kind of box office records it will set in the future.
The film is an action crime investigation drama about a serial killer who has caused a stir in the world as the youngest detective Park Sun-woo (Jung Hae-in) joins the violent crime investigation team of veteran detective Seo Do-cheol (Hwang Jung-min), who catches bad guys to the end. It is a sequel to 'Veteran' (2015), which captivated 13.41 million viewers.
'Begin Again' (directed by John Carney), which returned to the audience on the 18th to celebrate its 10th anniversary, ranked 2nd with 44,333 viewers.
'Begin Again' is a romantic melody that depicts the story of a music producer who lost his star fame and a singer-songwriter who lost her star boyfriend meeting in New York and starting over with songs together. When it was released in Korea in 2014, it achieved explosive box office success and ranked first in the world box office, earning more than five times its production cost of $10 million.
'Heartsping : Teenieping of Love' (Director Kim Soo-hoon) ranked 3rd with 43,710 viewers, 'Bread Barbershop: The Birth Of The Bread Star' (Director Jung Ji-hwan) ranked 4th with 48,550 viewers, and 'Look Back' (Director Kiyotaka Oshiyama) ranked 5th with 26,117 viewers.
