[The FactㅣReporter Mun Hwayoung] Cube Entertainment said that they are "discussing" the rumor that Jeon So-yeon will not renew her contract.
On the 25th, an official from Cube Entertainment (hereinafter referred to as Cube) told <The Fact>, "We are currently discussing the renewal of the contract with Jeon So-yeon. The schedule will still be carried out as planned." Previously, Xports News reported that Jeon So-yeon did not renew her contract with Cube.
During her solo performance at the 'iDOL' concert of (G)I-DLE's world tour held at KSPO DOME in Seoul Olympic Park in August this year, Jeon So-yeon caused controversy when she changed her rap lyrics to "Who will stop me when my contract ends this November?"
At the time, the entertainment company explained that it was just part of a stage performance. However, after Jeon Soyeon criticized the company for their poor handling of the incident, they said that the time in question coincided with the end of her contract and that they were currently discussing a contract renewal in good faith.
Jeon So-yeon made her name by appearing on Mnet's audition program 'Produce 101' in 2016. Although she did not make it to the rankings, she appeared on season 3 of 'Unpretty Rapstar' and showed off her unique talents and skills.
Jeon So-yeon, who later formed the group (G)I-DLE, debuted with the mini album 'I am' in May 2018. She serves as the group's general producer and is in charge of all artistic, musical, and performance direction. After reorganizing into a group 5 members in 2022, the songs TOMBOY, Nxde, Queencard and Fate were all successful.
