[The Fact | Reporter Jung Byung-geun] BTS member Jimin has set a new record as the longest-extending K-pop solo artist on the US Billboard's main chart, the 'Hot 100'.
According to the latest chart (March 15) released by Billboard on March 11, the title track "Who" from Jimin's second solo album "MUSE," released in July last year, reached No. 41 on the Hot 100, marking a total of 32 weeks on the chart. With this achievement, Jimin surpassed the record of 31 weeks set by PSY in 2012 with "Gangnam Style."
Including solo and K-pop group songs, this is the same record as the previous record. The longest-running song on this chart is still BTS' "Dynamite" at 32 weeks. Thus, Jimin has become the artist with the longest-running record on the Hot 100 both as a group member and a solo artist.
The solo products of BTS members are still hot. Jungkook's debut solo single, "Seven" (feat. Latto), is currently on the Global (excluding the US) chart at No. 77 and the Global 200 at No. 131, with 86 and 85 weeks, respectively. Meanwhile, Jin's solo album "Happy," released in November last year, has spent 16 consecutive weeks on the World Albums chart at No. 25.
