[The Fact | Reporter Choi Soo Bin] Actor Kim Soo Hyun announced that the evidence released by the late Kim Sae Ron's family is all fake.
At 4:30 p.m. on March 31, Kim Soo Hyun held a press conference at the Stanford Hotel in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul. He affirmed, "The evidence released by the late Kim Sae Ron's family through the Garosero Institute YouTube channel is not the original but has been edited."
He continued, "The photo that was said to be taken in 2016 was actually taken in 2019. Just because of the rumor that I dated the late Kim Sae Ron, they kept releasing fake evidence. Recently, the late Kim Sae Ron's family also revealed the text messages between me and her. Based on this conversation, they are accusing me of 'pedophilia' or 'underage grooming'."
Kim Soo Hyun emphasized, "The person who chatted with the late Kim Sae Ron in that text message was not me. To prove this, I sent the evidence provided by her family as well as the text messages I exchanged with acquaintances to a scientific agency. The results showed that it was not the same person."
He also added, "The late Kim Sae Ron's family asserted that my management company pressured me by sending a second request for compensation. But I hope everyone will listen to the recording of the call between my company's director and the director of the late Kim Sae Ron's last management company a year ago."
Kim Soo Hyun then released the recording between the representative of Gold Medalist and the representative of Kim Sae Ron's last management company. In the recording, the representative of Gold Medalist said, 'A request for compensation will be sent. But don't worry too much, this is just an administrative procedure that we are forced to carry out.'
He continued, "I am willing to admit if I did something wrong. If there is responsibility to shoulder, I will take responsibility. But I cannot accept things that I did not do."
Kim Soo Hyun also expressed his concern: "Since this incident started, every time the company and I spoke up to refute it, new recordings suddenly appeared. They also released photos and videos that were not the original, and intentionally changed the timing of the incident. I'm really worried about what they will release next after this press conference. I don't expect everyone to believe me right now, but I will prove everything."
Currently, Kim Soo Hyun is facing accusations of dating Kim Sae Ron when she was a minor. The late Kim Sae Ron's family spoke up through the Garosero Institute YouTube channel on March 10, confirming that Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Sae Ron had been in love since she was in 9th grade and that the relationship lasted for 6 years.
In addition, the late Kim Sae Ron's family also accused Gold Medalist - the company founded by Kim Soo Hyun - of sending a document demanding 700 million won in compensation last year, putting pressure on Kim Sae Ron, and Kim Soo Hyun, despite being her ex-lover, did not intervene.
However, Kim Soo Hyun's management company denied the accusation, saying that he only dated Kim Sae Ron from the summer of 2019 (when she was an adult) to the fall of 2020. They also affirmed that the document demanding compensation was just a legal procedure in the process of the company handling compensation for Kim Sae Ron's drunk driving accident, and not an actual threat.
Despite Kim Soo Hyun's rebuttal, the late Kim Sae Ron's family continued to release more photos and videos of the two's relationship. In response, Kim Soo Hyun's agency filed a lawsuit against Kim Sae Ron's family and the Garosero Institute channel for alleged involvement in a sex crime.
After Kim Soo Hyun continued to deny all allegations, the late Kim Sae Ron's family held a press conference on March 27, revealing more evidence of their relationship when she was a minor and demanding an apology from Kim Soo Hyun. The Garosero Institute channel also continued to post Kim Soo Hyun's private videos, sparking controversy.
