[The Fact | Reporter Choi Soobin] WINNER will hold a solo concert without the participation of Song Mino, who is embroiled in controversy due to suspicion of violating the Military Service Law.
On May 7, YG Entertainment said, “We sincerely thank the fans who have always loved and waited for WINNER (Kang Seungyoon, Kim Jinwoo, Lee Seunghoon, Song Mino) for a long time” and “We plan to hold WINNER’s concert in July, after about 3 years and 3 months.”
The company added, “Since this is a performance marking WINNER’s comeback and a special occasion to meet fans after 3 years, we have booked the venue a long time ago and are preparing carefully to deliver the most perfect stage.”
However, YG also shared, “To be honest, we were very hesitant about whether to hold this concert or not. However, due to the long-awaited expectations of fans who have been waiting for WINNER’s performance for a long time, along with the members’ strong determination to meet their fans, we have decided to proceed with the concert as planned.”
The company added, “This performance will feature three members, Kang Seungyoon, Kim Jinwoo, and Lee Seunghoon. Since this was not an easy decision, we hope to receive enthusiastic support and cheers from fans.”
Currently, Song Mino is suspected of not fulfilling his duties while serving as a public service worker. He began his alternative service in March 2023 at a facility in Mapo District, Seoul, and was discharged on December 23 of last year. However, there were allegations that he did not fulfill his duties properly, and the Military Service Administration forwarded the case to the investigation agency. Accordingly, the Mapo Police Station in Seoul prosecuted Song Mino for violating the Military Service Act last December.
