[The Fact | Reporter Jeong Byeong-geun] Girl group TWICE, who has made a leap forward as a ‘stadium artist’, will meet fans around the world with a new, more powerful world tour.
On the 9th at midnight, JYP Entertainment (hereafter JYP) released the ‘TWICE WORLD TOUR’ poster and teaser video on TWICE’s official social media and announced the news of their sixth world tour. This is their first world tour in a year since their fifth world tour, ‘READY TO BE’, which mobilized 1.5 million audiences worldwide.
TWICE will kick off their tour at Incheon Inspire Arena on July 19-20, then Osaka on the 26-27 (local time), Aichi on August 23-24, Fukuoka on the 30-31, Tokyo on September 16-17, Macau on the 27-28, Bulacan on October 4, Singapore on the 11-12, Sydney on November 1-2, Melbourne on the 8-9, Kaohsiung on the 22nd, Hong Kong on December 6, and Bangkok on the 13-14.
In addition, they announced additional tour locations by including the phrase 'MORE SHOWS WILL BE REVEALED SOON' on their posters.
In July of last year, TWICE became the first foreign female artist to enter the Nissan Stadium in Kanagawa, Japan, and marked the end of their fifth world tour, 'READY TO BE'. The tour, which consisted of 51 shows in 27 regions, attracted 1.5 million audiences. In particular, they were the first female group to enter and sell out the SoPay Stadium in Los Angeles and the MetLife Stadium in New York.
According to JYP, the new world tour, 'THIS IS FOR', is expected to be a tour of the highest level ever, with all the seats in the venues being opened 360 degrees and the boundaries between the stage and the audience being broken down. Through the omnidirectional stage where the front of the stage is not specified, the audience can watch TWICE's performance in a three-dimensional and vivid way.
The world-renowned multimedia creative studio Moment Factory is participating in this TWICE world tour. Moment Factory is a leader in stage production in the music industry, having collaborated with global artists such as Olivia Rodrigo, Billie Eilish, Ed Sheeran, Madonna, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and U2.
Mukhtar joins as show director. With his background as a performer and experience on major stages around the world, he recently demonstrated his outstanding directing skills by participating in Kendrick Lamar and Usher's Super Bowl halftime show. The two directors will join this tour to bring TWICE's narrative and energy to life on stage in a sophisticated and powerful way.
The new world tour teaser video contains colorful stage scenes that live up to TWICE's reputation of being 'impressive once with the eyes and once with the ears', raising expectations for the concert. The explosive performance on the largest-scale stage ever, as well as the energetic appearance of the nine members Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Jihyo, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung, and Tzuyu and the audience as one, will give you a thrill.
TWICE will continue to be active this summer and further heat up the hearts of their worldwide fans. On July 11th at 1PM, they will release their 4th full-length album of the same name as their 6th world tour, 'THIS IS FOR.' They will also headline the large-scale music festival 'Lollapalooza Chicago' held in Grant Park, Chicago, USA on August 2nd, and show off their status as the 'top global girl group.'
