[The Fact | Reporter Jeong Byeong-geun] Boy group SEVENTEEN Wonwoo celebrated his birthday with a special song of gentle consolation.
On the 17th, Wonwoo made a surprise release of his self-composed song 'Gogae'. 'Gogae' is a ballad that combines gentle piano and string sounds, and the chorus that builds up as emotions intensify is impressive. The lyrics, which compare the process of overcoming a hill to life, convey the message of not being discouraged and moving forward with hope toward tomorrow, even if it is difficult at times.
Wonwoo participated in writing the lyrics and composing this song and sincerely expressed his affection for his fans. His determination to treasure the hill he climbed with CARAT (fandom name) as a memory and to happily overcome the new hill he will face in the future can be seen in his pledge. Wonwoo tried a new singing style to match the mood of the song, and showed off his wide range of musical colors with his plain and husky vocals.
His agency Pledis Entertainment said, "'Gogae' is a song that lets you feel Wonwoo's mature and warm emotions," and added, "I hope this song can provide gentle comfort to those who are going through their own ups and downs."

The music video, produced as an animation, shows a cat spending a lonely time meeting a butterfly and going over a ups and downs together. The lyrical production, which seems to contain the journey of Wonwoo and his fans, leaves a long aftertaste for the viewers.
Wonwoo has expanded his musical spectrum by trying out various genres through team albums as well as unit solo songs. In '99.9%' (WONWOO Solo), a track from SEVENTEEN's 5th full-length album, he created a lovely atmosphere with a refreshing band sound, and in 'Trash Can', another solo song from Jeonghan X Wonwoo's 1st single, he showed off his appealing voice.
