[The Fact | Reporter Jeong Byeong-geun] Girl group Say My Name is approaching fans in a friendly manner by using famous pop songs.
Say My Name (Hitomi, May, Kani, Dohee, Junhwi, Soha, Seungju, Shui) released a short-form challenge video containing the key choreography of their new song 'iLy' on their official social media on the 16th. The video contains a part of the sound source that maximizes the refreshing feeling by using famous pop songs, creating a sense of familiarity.
Some of the 'iLy' sound source that was revealed is an interpolation of the famous pop song 'Can't Take My Eyes Off You' (1967) by Frankie Valli. 'Can't Take My Eyes Off You' is better known for its climactic lyrics, 'I love you baby', and has been featured in many movies and commercials around the world.
Interpolation is often confused with sampling, but sampling is the use of the original sound source as is, while interpolation refers to the re-recording or modification of the original sound source.
In the video, SayMyName raised expectations for the full song by revealing different key choreography through two videos: a short form of the full eight-member version and a short form of Shui, Dohee, Junhwi, and Seungju. In particular, they created a refreshing summer atmosphere with lovely visuals on a sunset beach, giving off pleasant energy.
SayMyName, which is about to make its first comeback as an eight-member group with the addition of new member Shuie, will continue to sequentially release diverse comeback teaser content to show a new side of themselves. SayMyName's new single 'iLy' will be released on August 1st at 6 PM.
