[The Fact | Reporter Kim Saet-byeol] Actress Lee Na-eun will return to the small screen with 'The Defects'.
On the 18th, her agency Namoo Actors announced, "Lee Na-eun will appear in ENA's new Monday-Tuesday drama 'The Defects' (written by Ahn So-jung, directed by Oh Ki-hwan) as So-mi."
'The Defects' is an action thriller that depicts the desperate lives and revenge journey of children who almost died after being abandoned by their adoptive parents. The film is based on the webtoon of the same name by Kakao, starring Yeom Jung-ah, Won Jin-ah, Choi Young-joon, Kim Jin-young (Dex) and many more.
In the film, Lee Na-eun plays So-mi, one of the children abandoned by her adoptive parents. She is a character who is always full of energy despite her emotional wounds, along with other children, including Ah-hyun (played by Won Jin-ah), who plays the role of leader.
Lee Na-eun, who mainly portrays works revolving around youth school stories, tries her hand at the action thriller genre for the first time.
Lee Na-eun, who debuted as a member of April in 2015, expanded her acting field through the web drama 'A-TEEN'. She then appeared in 'Hip-hop King - Nasunagil' and 'Extraordinary You' and established her status.
However, in 2021, she was caught up in a group bullying scandal with fellow member Lee Hyun-joo. As the controversy spread, Lee Na-eun withdrew from the SBS drama 'Taxi Driver' she was filming, which also caused a hiatus in her work.
She then tried to make a comeback, and last year, she met the audience through special appearances in SBS 'Chaebol X Detective' and 'Crash'. She also recently opened a YouTube channel and began communicating with fans.
'The Defects', which marks Lee Na-eun's official comeback, will be first broadcast on ENA at 10 pm on the 21st.
