Domestic and international over-the-top (OTT) video streaming services (OTTs) are bolstering their content lineups with new releases in August. Various platforms, including Netflix, Tving, Wavve, and Disney Plus, will offer content across a variety of genres, including legal dramas, suspenseful revenge dramas, idol travel stories, and romance dramas.

Netflix will release the legal drama ″Esquire: Lawyers Who Dream of Becoming Lawyers″ on the 3rd. The drama centers on the growth story of rookie lawyer Hyo-min and her partner, Seok-hoon. Despite her social awkwardness, Hyo-min’s proactive approach helps Seok-hoon cultivate her skills as a competent lawyer. Seok-hoon possesses the ability to pressure others with creative logic, and the two struggle with their differing work styles and values. Lee Jin-wook plays Seok-hoon, and Jung Chae-yeon plays Hyo-min.

Netflix also released the romantic drama ″Days at Oxford″ on the 1st. This drama tells the story of Anna, an American student, who falls in love with Jamie, a British student, while studying at Oxford. Anna pursues her career by studying literature and poetry, and her relationship with Jamie leads to a turning point in her life. Sofia Carson plays Anna, and Corey Milkrist plays Jamie.

Teving will premiere the drama ″Shut Up, You’re the Villain in My Work″ on the 4th. This suspenseful revenge drama follows a victim of school bullying who meets her perpetrator as the lead actor. Park Yoo-na stars in the lead role, and PD Jeong Jong-hoon is in charge of directing. On the same day, Teving will also premiere ″The Killer Next Door,″ a drama about the bromance between a killer and a former superstar baseball player. Kang Ri-han stars in the lead role.

Wavve will premiere ″First, For Love,″ a drama about a single mother and her medical school daughter’s struggle to find happiness. Directed by Yoo Je-won and written by Sung Woo-jin, it features a collaborative effort. On the 1st, Wavve will also premiere MBC’s ″Mary Kills People.″ This drama tells the story of a doctor who assists in dying and a detective who tracks them down. ″I Kill You,″ which was pre-released in theaters, will also be released on Wavve on the 22nd.

Coupang Play will release ″Sonic the Hedgehog 3″ on the 5th. Sonic fights to protect humanity through a showdown with Shadow, the ultimate secret weapon. The drama centers on the conflict between Sonic and Shadow.

Disney Plus will release ″Traveling with Snow Man,″ a travelogue featuring the nine-member idol group Snowman. This documentary series follows the members as they travel across Japan. Snowman will showcase various aspects of themselves to fans as they journey from Okinawa to Hokkaido.
