
Girl group ILLIT’s new song has been partially released as a Japanese commercial song. According to Belift Lab, ″Topping,″ a track from ILLIT’s first Japanese single, ″Toki Yo Tomare″ (original title: 時よ止まれ/Toki Yo Tomare), has been selected as the commercial soundtrack for the new sneaker collection of global fashion brand Lacoste Japan. ILLIT is currently serving as an ambassador for Lacoste Japan.
Lacoste Japan released a commercial video featuring a portion of ″Topping″ on its official website on the 2nd. The video showcases the ILLIT members’ clear vocals and upbeat melody. It also depicts the members preparing for an outing together, piqueing curiosity about the full song.
″Topping″ is a pop song that expresses the diverse emotions of a girl about to go on a first date. This song was composed and written by singer-songwriter Noa, the original singer of ″Any Angle,″ which became a hit on short-form platforms, particularly TikTok. The collaboration between Ailit and Noa is expected to garner enthusiastic responses from local fans.
Ailit’s first Japanese single, ″Toki Yo Tomare,″ will be released on September 1st. In addition to Noa, the album also features popular Japanese singer-songwriter Murasaki Ima. Murasaki Ima gained significant popularity on international social media last year with her song ″Masei no nyoma A.″ She will write the lyrics for the title track, ″Toki Yo Tomare,″ further enhancing the song’s trendy appeal.
