BTS’ Jimin has solidified his position as a global superstar by proving his immense popularity in Japan. Jimin took first place in the ″July K-Pop Male Idol Popularity Contest″ conducted by Japanese Hallyu media outlet Danmee from July 15 to July 29, 2025. In this survey, Jimin took first place with a whopping 57.78% of the votes, demonstrating Jimin’s unrivaled popularity, setting a new record of 27 consecutive months at the top.
This survey aims to convey the voices of K-Pop fans. To ensure a fair and transparent voting process, each person can only vote once. Voting criteria are based on activity in Korea, brand index (provided by BRAND REPUTATION_INDEX), monthly mentions on X (formerly Twitter), and Danmee-related articles and music videos. The survey selects 30 K-Pop male idols currently in the spotlight. This approach is part of an effort to accurately reflect fan feedback.
Jimin also won the ″July BOYS Ranking″ on the K-pop idol voting app ″iDOKI,″ which ran for a month starting July 1st, with 2,074,543 votes. This marks Jimin’s 14th #1 ranking, and his July victory will include a seven-day Nagoya Scramble x Vision advertisement. This achievement demonstrates the depth and passion of Jimin’s fan base.
Furthermore, Jimin continues to maintain his popularity in Japan, charting on the Billboard Japan Artist 100 chart for 63 weeks, as announced on July 30th. This achievement further solidifies Jimin’s influence in the Japanese market. Jimin’s growth as a K-pop idol goes beyond mere individual success, contributing to the global stature of Korean pop music.
Jimin’s achievements are seen as a testament to the globalization of K-pop and the continued expansion of the Korean Wave in Japan. Through Jimin’s activities, K-pop fans are further increasing their interest in Korean popular culture, which is positively impacting the K-pop industry as a whole. K-pop’s popularity has gone beyond a mere fad to become a cultural phenomenon, and Jimin is playing a crucial role at its center.
