BTS will be participating in a Michael Jackson tribute album project. According to The Irish Sun on the 3rd (local time), Paddy Dunning, Michael Jackson’s friend and owner of Grouse Lodge Studios, revealed, ″Sessions for the tribute album began last year, and the Korean boy band BTS has already come to Grouse Lodge to record one of the tracks.″
Grouse Lodge is located in Ireland, where Michael Jackson and his family resided for five months in a converted barn in 2006. During this time, several celebrities visited him to discuss creating a comeback album. However, the album was never completed when Michael Jackson left Ireland, and it remained unfinished after his death in 2009.
Paddy Dunning has been working to release these unreleased tracks. He revealed, ″There are about 10 more songs written for Michael in Ireland by his collaborators, including producer Rodney Jerkins and rapper Nephew.″ This is part of efforts to continue Michael Jackson’s musical legacy.
Paddy Dunning is also producing a documentary documenting Michael Jackson’s life in Ireland. ″We’ve received approval from the family,″ he explained. ″We’re gathering stories and memories from everyone who worked with Michael while he was in Ireland.″
Following news of the Michael Jackson tribute album, the hashtag ″BTS x MICHAEL JACKSON″ trended globally on social media platform X. Fans were enthusiastic, saying, ″This was expected, ever since BTS performed Michael Jackson-inspired songs like ’Dynamite.’″ Videos were also shared, featuring BTS’s performances alongside Michael Jackson’s legendary performances.
Michael Jackson is one of the world’s greatest pop stars, having sold approximately one billion records worldwide, and his music continues to inspire countless people. He died of a drug overdose at his home in Los Angeles in June 2009.
