The film ″The Devil Has Moved In,″ which showcases Im Yoona’s dual roles, has heralded a new era of character development. The film’s production briefing was held at 11:00 AM on the 9th at CGV Yongsan I’Park Mall in Seoul. Im Yoona, Ahn Bo-hyun, Sung Dong-il, Joo Hyun-young, and director Lee Sang-geun were in attendance. Released on August 13th, ″The Devil Has Moved In″ is a demon-possessed comedy about Gil-gu (Ahn Bo-hyun), an unemployed young man who takes on a part-time job watching over Seon-ji (Im Yoona), who awakens every morning as a demon. This film is garnering attention as the next project from director Lee Sang-geun, whose ″Exit″ attracted 9.42 million viewers.
Director Lee Sang-geun opened the event by saying, ″I felt nothing when I was working on my first film, but I’m excited to be starting my second.″ He expressed his motivation for directing this film, saying, ″I’m grateful for the love I received for ’Exit.’ While contemplating what to do for my second project, I decided to broaden my horizons. I wanted to delve deeper into the characters and the people they represent.″ He also explained, ″The Devil Has Moved In was originally planned as my debut project, but it was pushed aside by ’Exit,’ so I reorganized and decided to return with this project.″
Regarding the casting, Director Lee Sang-geun said, ″Im Yoon-ah has shown a lot of transformation through her diverse activities. I thought she would be a great portrayer of Seon-ji, so I decided to work with her. Ahn Bo-hyun was overwhelming when I first saw him. He had a strong exterior, yet gentle interior, and I thought he would perfectly match the image I was aiming for, Gil-gu.″ He added, ″Senior actor Sung Dong-il is essential for the core and genre of our film. Joo Hyun-young struggles with comedy, but I chose her because she can express detailed emotions.″
Im Yoon-ah said of her reunion with director Lee Sang-geun, ″I wanted to work with this team again after filming ’Exit.’ The director suggested a lovable character, so we’re working together. We’re harmonizing perfectly on set again.″ Director Lee Sang-geun expressed his satisfaction, saying, ″Yoon-ah is a wonderful actress. She’s truly a good person.″
Ahn Bo-hyun said, ″I had a lot of concerns when I read the script. Talking with the director, I thought, ’This is the director.’ Gil-gu is Lee Sang-geun.″ Sung Dong-il added, ″I felt a lot of pressure. The character was written by the director himself, and the setting is actually his neighborhood. I gave it my all.″ Joo Hyun-young said, ″Seon-ji is a powerful character. I’m looking forward to seeing how Yoon-ah will portray her.″
Im Yoon-ah explained, ″I wanted to differentiate between daytime Seon-ji and devil Seon-ji externally. Daytime Seon-ji has an innocent vibe, while devil Seon-ji has a strong element.″ She continued, ″The director is present in every character. I tried to express myself based on the director.″ Im Yoon-ah said of Jo Jung-suk, who co-starred in ″Exit,″ that ″Zombie Daughter″ will be released on July 30th, ″It’s meaningful. I’m happy to be able to greet you side by side in theaters with different works.″
Ahn Bo-hyun said, ″I’ve always exercised, so the director didn’t make any special requests. I have some similarities with Gil-gu.″ Director Lee Sang-geun, responding to the actors’ comments that their characters resembled him, said, ″When creating a character, a creator tends to project themselves onto it. I’m drawn to good people who are just like ordinary people.″ Sung Dong-il said, ″I find the devil daughter appealing. Even though she’s my child, I let her go when she’s bothered.″
Im Yoon-ah said, ″I’m happy to be part of Sung Dong-il’s lineage of daughters.″ Sung Dong-il added, ″I have daughters from ’Reply’. I also have daughters from Girls’ Generation.″ Im Yoon-ah smiled, saying, ″I think I could make a group with just Girls’ Generation.″ Im Yoon-ah revealed, ″As you can see in the trailer, there’s a scene where I jump into the Han River. While preparing for that scene, I also practiced on an underwater set.″
Director Lee Sang-geun said, ″I hope Korean films released in the summer do well and bring a vibrant atmosphere to theaters.″ Joo Hyun-young added, ″The timing of the release is great. I hope many people come to the theater and have a wonderful time.″ Sung Dong-il said, ″This time, you can feel a more detailed experience. I hope audiences say they’ve moved into the theater.″ Ahn Bo-hyun said, ″The chemistry in the film is great. I hope many people come to the theater and see it.″ Im Yoon-ah emphasized, ″It’s a film that’s perfect for summer. I hope you all come see the spicy and spicy ’The Devil Has Moved In’ in theaters.″
