According to the report, 4Minute’s ″Salmanjjigo″ garnered attention upon its release, ranking high on music program charts despite not having any broadcast promotions. The per-share copyright fee for music securities in the first half of this year showed a significant increase compared to the second half of last year.
Kim Jong-kook’s ″Tear Stains″ ranked third, with a 1,210% increase, while Davichi’s ″Don’t You Know″ ranked fourth, with a 977% increase. Monsta X’s ″BEASTMODE″ ranked fifth, with an 893% increase.
A Music Cow representative explained, ″With the successive release of remakes of original songs like Davichi’s ″Don’t You Know,″ Sechskies’ ″Couple,″ Byun Jin-seop’s ″To the Lady,″ and Park Hye-kyung’s ″Red Sneakers,″ the original songs are also receiving attention, leading to an upward trend in copyright royalties.″
Furthermore, a ranking of copyright royalties by major media outlets was released. Park Hye-kyung’s ″Red Sneakers″ ranked first in the ranking of copyright royalties by copied media, followed by Lee Seung-chul’s ″Come Closer.″ 2NE1’s ″Slow,″ ″Lonely,″ and ″I Don’t Care″ ranked third through fifth, respectively.
In the ranking of copyright royalties by performance media, Kim Jong-kook’s ″Tears,″ Monsta X’s ″BEASTMODE,″ GOT7’s ″Go Higher,″ Davichi’s ″Don’t You Know,″ and NCT Dream’s ″ANL″ ranked high. Songs by Infinite, Taeyang, and Daesung also showed high growth rates.
A Music Cow representative stated, ″Various issues, such as the remake craze, reunions, and comeback concerts, were reflected in the rankings of rising copyright royalties.″ They added, ″Since song utilization directly impacts revenue streams, closely monitoring music trends provides crucial insights for music investment.″
