Singer Sean expressed his gratitude to his fans through his YouTube channel. On the 6th, a video titled ″Thank you for everything,″ was uploaded to the ″With Sean″ channel. In the video, Sean said, ″Hello, this is Sean. I turned on the camera today because I really wanted to say something. Thank you so much for everything.″
In the video, Sean continued talking about the ″815 Run,″ which has been running for six years. He addressed fans’ concerns, saying, ″It’s so hot, I’m a little scared. How can I run 81.5km?″ He added, ″If you look at YouTube comments, I’ve seen comments like, ’Just run 8.15km on this hot day,’ and ’Why bother?’″
Sean stated, ″The reason I started running this in the first place is because I feel like it’s a letter of gratitude to the independence fighters who sacrificed everything for the Republic of Korea.″ He added that he plans to do his best to run 81.5km this year as well. He said, ″When we first started in 2020, 3,000 815 runners and around 30 companies participated. This year, 19,450 people have already signed up. So many people have joined us, and over 100 companies have already donated 8.15 million won.″
Sean also shared, ″The first house I built with the funds raised from completing the race that first year was the house of Grandma Kim Geum-sun in Hwasun, South Jeolla Province. As soon as she saw me, she held my hand, tears welling up in her eyes, and said she never imagined she would live in a house like this.″ He added, ″Since then, every year on Liberation Day, I’ve run 81.5km and, together with many others, have built houses for the descendants of independence fighters.″
Sean said, ″Nineteen houses have already been built. Five years later, only 81 remain until the 100th house.″ He added, ″The descendants of independence activists are living happily there. Our hearts are truly being heard.″ He said this year’s donations will be around 2 billion won, explaining, ″That means we can build as many as 15 houses, or as few as 10.″
Sean said, ″I’ll go out at 5 a.m. on Liberation Day and run 81.5 kilometers.″ He added, ″I think I ran 81.5 kilometers not long ago, and I only have 11 days left. My heart rate went up to 220 at the time.″ He continued, ″I couldn’t breathe, so I kept pouring water on my head to cool it down. That’s how I finally got my breath back.″
He said, ″After I finish running 81.5 kilometers, I’ll take a short break and then run back to perform for you all.″ Sean added, ″Those who are there that day will see the world’s only singer who runs 81.5 kilometers and performs. After the performance, I’ll run another 8.15 kilometers with you all.″
Finally, Sean said, ″The reason I turned on the camera today is to express my gratitude to everyone who supported and joined us.″ He emphasized, ″Thanks to your great support, I’m preparing well and I turned on the camera to tell you my promise to successfully complete the 81.5km race this year as well.″ Sean concluded, ″Once again, thank you so much for everything. Please continue to support us. All will be well, Republic of Korea!″
