
The group TWS (Tours) continues its strong rise in Japan. According to the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) on the 8th, TWS’s Japanese debut single ″Nice to see you again″ (original title: Hajimemashite) surpassed 100,000 copies in cumulative sales as of July, the month of its release, earning them a gold disc certification. The RIAJ awards certifications based on cumulative monthly album shipments: ″Gold″ (100,000 copies), ″Platinum″ (250,000 copies), and ″Double Platinum″ (500,000 copies).
This marks TWS’s third gold-certified album, following their first single ″Last Bell″ and their third mini-album ″TRY WITH US.″ TWS continues to demonstrate their popularity in Japan by increasing sales with each release. Indeed, ″Nice to See You Again″ topped the Japanese Oricon Weekly Singles Ranking, Weekly Combined Singles Ranking, and Billboard Japan’s Top Single Sales Chart in its first week of release.
Notably, the eponymous title track topped the Hot 100, a rare feat for a debut song. This marks the second international song to reach the top spot on this chart this year, following Rosé and Bruno Mars’ ″APT.″ TWS is capitalizing on the excitement generated by their debut single with a tour, captivating global fans.
TWS will hold the final show of their first tour, ″2025 TWS TOUR ’24/7:WITH:US’ IN JAPAN,″ which will span six cities and feature 13 shows, at K-Arena Yokohama on June 9th and 10th. This tour is expected to further solidify TWS’s popularity in Japan.
Additionally, TWS will be performing at the ″ROCK IN JAPAN FESTIVAL 2025,″ the largest local music festival, to be held at Soga Sports Park in Chiba City, Japan on September 15th. They are receiving attention as the ″hottest K-pop rising stars,″ and the local public’s expectations are high.
