
SEVENTEEN’s leader S.COUPS (real name Choi Seung-chul) donated 50 million won to children from low-income families to celebrate his birthday. According to the Community Chest of Korea on the 8th, with this donation, S.COUPS became the 3,710th member of the Honor Society, a group of major donors. The Honor Society is a group of individuals who have donated over 100 million won or pledged to pay within five years.
The donation will be used to support children and youth, in accordance with S.COUPS’s wishes. It will be used to cover meal costs for children at risk of missing meals during summer vacation. Specifically, the donation will be utilized to support the healthy growth of underprivileged children, focusing on local children’s centers nationwide.
S.Coups said, ″Thanks to the love of our fans, my birthday is a special day every year. To express my gratitude, I wanted to give back to society, even if only a little, and support the healthy growth of all children and teenagers.″ He has consistently shown interest in various areas, including child welfare and animal protection, and has consistently practiced giving.
Including this birthday donation, S.Coups has donated to animal shelters and rescue organizations on numerous occasions, supporting medical expenses and rescuing abused animals. He continues to make a positive impact by donating during various disasters, including the Ulsan, Gyeongbuk, and Gyeongnam wildfire relief fund in March.
SEVENTEEN is celebrating their 10th anniversary this year with various activities. Their fifth full-length album, ″HAPPY BURSTDAY,″ released in May, topped Circle Chart’s first-half album chart, and the title track ″THUNDER″ achieved immense popularity, topping Melon’s Top 100 chart. Starting this September, the group will meet fans around the world through the ″SEVENTEEN WORLD TOUR [NEW_],″ which will kick off at the Incheon Asiad Main Stadium. The tour will continue to Hong Kong, North America, and Japan.
