In episode 4 of Mnet’s ″Boyz2Planet,″ a one-on-one class battle took place, and Team 1, ″Whiplash,″ won a special benefit and was granted a spot on the M Countdown stage. The episode aired on August 7th and showcased the various teams’ practice sessions and mid-term evaluations.
During Team 2’s rehearsal for ″First Meeting Doesn’t Go as Planned,″ Lee Chen disappeared several times. Jeon Yi-jeong revealed, ″Lee Chen disappeared seven times. Honestly, I got a little angry from that point on.″ Lee Chen was criticized for his lack of familiarity with the lyrics and choreography. Jeon Yi-jeong decided to hand over Lee Chen’s killing part to Choi Lip-woo. Lee Chen reacted with bewilderment, asking, ″What? Why? Something’s wrong?″ Jeon Yi-jeong stated, ″It was a huge disruption to the performance.″
Following Team 2’s performance of ″Rising Sun,″ Team 1 performed. Team 1 received positive feedback during the mid-term evaluation. Meanwhile, Team 2 lost by a large margin. During the mid-game evaluation for Team 2 of ″KILL THE ROMEO,″ Lee Seok-hoon asked Heo Jung-xing about his condition, to which Heo Jung-xing replied, ″No. I’m too tired.″ Lee Seok-hoon warned, ″I don’t know how you feel about this situation, but if you fail, you’ll be eliminated. Do you think we’ll regret it? It’s your lives.″
Heo Jung-xing and Guo Zhen clashed over differing opinions on choreography. Heo Jung-xing was obsessed with the rose-throwing choreography, while Guo Zhen demanded that they stop throwing the roses, citing it as a distraction. The two argued, raising their voices. During Team 1’s mid-game evaluation, Lee Seok-hoon bluntly stated, ″There’s nothing I can say to you if you do this.″ Lim Han-byeol commented, ″Showing this level of quality in the mid-game evaluation shows a lack of leadership.″
Team 1’s leader changed from Xue Shuren to Yang Hee-chan, and the team received rave reviews after their performance. In the ″KILL THE ROMEO″ competition, Team 1 won by a landslide. During the mid-term review of ″Whiplash,″ choreographer Kinky Master re-ran the choreography three times, looking puzzled. He advised, ″Sangwon, where was your killing part? I couldn’t tell. It didn’t really feel like a killing part, so I didn’t know.″
Lee Sang-won confessed, ″I felt like I needed to do better. I was so nervous that I cowered and couldn’t show off.″ He received poor self-evaluations, placing last, and was criticized as ″below expectations.″ Losing confidence, Lee Sang-won suggested to his teammates that they change their killing part, but Yumeki encouraged him, saying, ″I never thought about changing the killing part. I just hope you gain confidence.″ Jo Woo-an-shin also hovered by Lee Sang-won’s side, offering encouragement.
Team 1’s performance began, and Lee Sang-won captivated the audience with a flawless killing part. Although the two teams received poor reviews during the midterm evaluation, they breathed a sigh of relief after receiving better reviews on the main stage. The vote for the two ″Whiplash″ teams ended in a 4-4 tie, and the final results of the one-on-one class battles were announced. Team ″KILL THE ROMEO″ (1), ″Special″ (1), ″Rising Sun″ (1), ″Whiplash″ (1), and ″First Meetings Don’t Go as Planned″ (2) were the final victors.
The ″Whiplash″ team was selected as the winner of the special benefit. Lee Sang-won expressed his gratitude, saying, ″I can’t believe it. I’m so grateful to the star creators who gave us such kind and encouraging feedback. We’ll be back with even better performances and videos.″
