IVE has unveiled a new concept titled ″EVIL CUPID.″ On the 8th, Starship Entertainment released the trailer for their fourth mini-album, ″IVE SECRET,″ on IVE’s official YouTube channel. The video marks a bold departure from the group’s traditionally bright and lovable image as Cupid, showcasing IVE’s sophisticated take on the ″EVIL CUPID″ theme.
In the trailer, IVE members portray six distinct Cupids, each harboring their own secrets. They engage viewers with unsettling scenes, such as dropping tumblers, crossing their fingers, and revealing a hidden revolver from their ″CUPID’S GUIDEBOOK.″ These actions, illuminated by natural daylight, symbolically unveil Cupid’s darker side, creating an atmosphere of suspense.
Midway through the video, Ahn Yu-jin shifts the tone as he observes couples arguing via CCTV. After responding to a notification for urgent action, he takes charge. The other members also display their ″Evil Cupid″ personas, contrasting sharply with their innocent Cupid image by aiming a revolver at a unicorn and igniting a paper crane.
Towards the end of the video, IVE appears shrouded in darkness, clad in black outfits. Surrounded by a multitude of glowing goats, they vanish with massive black wings, crafting an eerie and intense atmosphere that sets the stage for their comeback.
The trailer also features excerpts from the new album, including the lyrics, ″Lifting the veil, a secret myth / Good and evil coexist, right on my face,″ which enhance the overall mood and spark curiosity about the message IVE aims to convey through this new release.
The fourth mini-album ″IVE SECRET,″ set to drop on the 25th, promises to break away from conventional narratives, revealing hidden attitudes and multifaceted identities. Through the title track ″XOXZ″ and other songs, IVE illustrates how conflicting emotions—such as internal versus external, good versus evil, and arrogance versus mischief—can coexist within a single group. IVE will officially launch their fourth mini-album ″IVE SECRET″ and the title track ″XOXZ″ on the 25th, kicking off their comeback promotions.
