

″Seoul Northeast Heroes″ has donated 35 million won to the Department of Practical Music at Kyungbok University to celebrate Lim Young-woong’s 9th debut anniversary. The donation ceremony took place on August 8th, marking a continued partnership that began in 2023 between the fan club and the university’s music department.
In appreciation of this inaugural donation, the Department of Practical Music organized the ″Hero Contest,″ which featured performances exclusively by Lim Young-woong. With this year’s development fund donation, ″Seoul Northeast Heroes″ is further solidifying its commitment to supporting the department.
Professor Lee Woong-hee from the Department of Practical Music expressed gratitude for the ongoing support, stating, ″We are always thankful for your dedication to our department.″ He noted that the encouragement from ″Seoul Northeast Heroes″ has empowered students in their musical pursuits, emphasizing the importance of continued support for their development.
Student representative Kim Soo-bin conveyed his appreciation, saying, ″Thank you for your ongoing donations to the department. I aspire to become a junior who can stand shoulder to shoulder with senior Lim Young-woong.″ The students’ gratitude towards their benefactors is evident.
The director of ″Seoul Northeast Heroes″ reflected on the three-year donation journey, recalling the excitement of their first contribution. He mentioned the sense of growth experienced alongside professors and students, particularly through the ″Hero Contest,″ which was designed to give back to the community.
He also commented on Lim Young-woong’s decision to prioritize values over physical album sales for his second album, viewing it as a step toward fostering genuine empathy. He hopes that the ″Hero Contest″ will serve as a nurturing ground for aspiring musicians.
The upcoming ″3rd HERO CONTEST,″ organized by Kyungbok University’s Department of Practical Music and sponsored by ″Seoul Northeast Heroes,″ is scheduled for August 23rd at Kyungbok University’s Udang Hall.
