On the August 9th episode of MBC’s entertainment program ″Hangout with Yoo,″ interviews were conducted for additional candidates for Haha’s project ″Insamo (Unpopular People’s Gathering),″ featuring Yoo Jae-suk, Haha, Joo Woo-jae, and Lee Yi-kyung. Candidates included actor Han Sang-jin, ″Worldwide Villain″ actor Heo Sung-tae, and broadcaster Jung Joon-ha. The broadcast achieved impressive viewership ratings, reaching 5.6% in the Seoul metropolitan area and ranking first in its time slot. The 2049 viewership rating stood at 2.6%, leading all Saturday programs, including variety shows and dramas.
A standout moment from ″Insamo″ occurred when Jung Joon-ha was invited, resulting in a peak viewership rating of 7%. Han Sang-jin expressed his eagerness to join ″Insamo,″ but Haha disqualified him, stating he was ″not even famous.″ Frustrated, Han Sang-jin refused to accept that he was less well-known than the other candidates. Joo Woo-jae playfully teased him, remarking, ″Your signature work is the web variety show ’Punggyego.’″ It was also revealed that Han Sang-jin had used a photo of Yoo Jae-suk as a thumbnail on his social media, explaining, ″I was worried people wouldn’t come if I used my face, so I used Jae-suk’s face,″ highlighting his desire for recognition.
Han Sang-jin further disclosed, ″I even cleared out my schedule for Thursday (the recording day),″ showcasing his actual schedule on his phone. As it became known that his only fan cafe had just one member, he gradually embraced the ″Insamo″ label. He also engaged in a lighthearted rivalry with director Jang Hang-jun, leading to shared laughter. Han Sang-jin successfully secured an invitation, declaring, ″I’m betting my life on this.″
Next up was actor Heo Sung-tae, known for his role as the villain in ″Squid Game″ Season 1. He shared how his social media following surged after the show’s success, only to decline later, reflecting on his own popularity. Heo Sung-tae admitted, ″I suffered from panic disorder. It felt like everyone on set was staring at me, like, ’Let’s see how good you act!’″ He expressed his disappointment over not reaching the 100th visitor milestone on his fan cafe, which currently has 52 members.
Yoo Jae-suk offered Heo Sung-tae advice on improving his line delivery, saying, ″This is why you’re being pushed out by Jang Chen.″ Despite his shyness, Heo Sung-tae embraced the role of a ″variety show rookie,″ diligently following every instruction.
Jung Joon-ha, appearing at Haha’s recommendation, shared updates about his fans pooling money for gifts and a major project he was preparing. However, Yoo Jae-suk and Haha were skeptical, prompting laughter. Energized by the mention of the second-ranked ″Infinite Challenge″ figure, Jung Joon-ha boasted, ″Park Myung-soo is just a jerk.″
After losing 10kg, Jung Joon-ha confidently showcased his abs, though Yoo Jae-suk and Haha were less than enthusiastic about his weight loss. Yoo Jae-suk jokingly pinched Jung Joon-ha’s belly fat. Jung Joon-ha, referring to himself as ″Gangnam Station Byun Woo-seok,″ shared a story that seemed hard to believe.
When Jung Joon-ha received an invitation to ″Insamo″ as a free pass, he complained, ″I told you I’m popular. How many times do I have to tell you?″ He expressed curiosity about the attendees. Yoo Jae-suk, satisfied, replied, ″It’s fun to see you sometimes. It’s the most fun when we talk on the phone.″ Jung Joon-ha confidently stated, ″I’m really going to succeed next year,″ and expressed his determination to participate in ″Insamo,″ urging for the selection of the right candidates.
Viewers are eagerly anticipating ″Insamo.″
