New Jeans, Daniel’s Marathon Amid Legal Trouble

Daniel, a member of the group New Jeans who has been on hiatus, is set to compete in his first marathon. Singer Sean shared a photo of himself with Daniel on social media, captioning it, ″Unknown Crew Early Morning Run.″ He mentioned that Daniel and Coach Lee Yeon-jin ran 8.15 km together, with Coach Lee providing running lessons and tailored training for Daniel. As Daniel prepares for his first 10 km race, Sean expressed his commitment to helping him achieve his target time, humorously referring to his support as ″Sean’s PB Restaurant.″ This marathon marks Daniel’s first 10 km race since debuting with New Jeans.

In the meantime, New Jeans is grappling with a challenging legal situation. On May 17th, the Seoul High Court’s Civil Division 25-2 dismissed an appeal from five New Jeans members against an injunction that prohibits them from engaging in independent activities. This ruling means the members cannot pursue entertainment projects or advertising contracts without the consent of their agency, Adore, effectively halting all independent entertainment activities.

The court upheld a previous decision from the Seoul Central District Court, which granted Adore’s request for an injunction to protect the agency’s interests and prevent the signing of advertising contracts. The members’ objections were rejected, and the court mandated that each member must pay Adore 1 billion won for any violations related to independent activities conducted without prior approval.

Adore and New Jeans were given time to reach an agreement before the ruling, with a deadline set for the 14th. This situation is expected to significantly impact New Jeans’ future endeavors. While Daniel’s marathon participation represents a personal challenge, the group’s ongoing legal issues remain unresolved.

Daniel is navigating a complex situation, balancing his marathon preparations with the group’s legal challenges. With New Jeans currently prohibited from independent activities, his participation in the marathon is closely tied to the group’s public image. Until the legal dispute is settled, the future activities of New Jeans remain uncertain.

Daniel’s marathon challenge showcases his determination to achieve personal goals while symbolizing the current struggles of New Jeans. The group’s legal troubles continue to limit the members’ entertainment opportunities, drawing considerable attention from fans and the public. While Daniel’s marathon participation marks a significant milestone for him personally, the unresolved legal issues surrounding New Jeans linger on.
