BTS member V, 29, has shared insights into his workout routine after successfully losing 13 kg following his military discharge. In an appearance on the YouTube channel ″W KOREA,″ V discussed his fitness habits during military service and his current regimen. He mentioned, ″During my military service, I worked out seven days a week without a single day off. But after being discharged, I don’t have much time, so I’ve been working out consistently whenever I can.″
V explained that he has transitioned from a three-part workout to a two-part workout. Trainer Kwak Jin-ho from Yeosu Kim Teacher Fitness elaborated on the differences between the two approaches. A three-part workout focuses on training muscle groups separately, such as chest and triceps, back and biceps, and lower body. In contrast, a two-part workout targets two groups: upper and lower body.
Kwak Jin-ho noted, ″A three-part workout takes more time but allows for greater focus on specific areas. It provides sufficient rest and attention to each muscle group, which is beneficial for recovery and growth.″ He added, ″A two-part workout enables more frequent targeting of the same muscles by dividing the upper and lower body. This approach stimulates the entire body in a shorter time frame, making it ideal for beginners or those with limited time.″
In a live broadcast following his military discharge in June, V revealed that he had eliminated carbohydrates from his diet to aid weight loss. He pointed out that refined carbohydrates have a high glycemic index, so moderation is key when dieting. Consuming foods with a high glycemic index can cause rapid spikes in blood sugar, leading to increased insulin secretion to manage it. This quick drop in blood sugar can trigger renewed hunger and overeating, while the insulin released in the body stores excess blood sugar in fat cells, contributing to weight gain.
