Singer-songwriter Lee Seung-yoon is set to release a surprise digital single titled ″Punkanon.″ The single will be available on various music streaming platforms at 6 p.m. on August 13th and features two tracks: the title track ″Punkanon″ and an extended version called ″PunKanon (Extended Ver.),″ which includes a longer chorus.

″Punkanon,″ a blend of ″punk″ and ″canon,″ is a funk-inspired reimagining of ″Canon,″ a song from Lee Seung-yoon’s third full-length album, ″Reverse,″ released in October of the previous year. The arrangement of this single involves co-producer Jo Hee-won, guitarist Lee Jeong-won, and drummer Ji Yong-hee, all of whom contributed to the composition and arrangement of the tracks on ″Reverse.″

Last September, Lee Seung-yoon teased ″Punkanon″ on his Instagram account, ″1day1canon,″ which had previously shared only practice videos of ″Canon.″ Fans expressed their eagerness for the full release, commenting, ″I keep coming back because I want to hear it.″

Lee Seung-yoon premiered the full version of ″Punkanon″ during his club gig ″2025 LEE SEUNG YOON CLUB GIG ’POKZOOTIME’″ in July, as well as at the European music festival ″Colours of Ostrava 2025″ and the Korean festival ″2025 Incheon Pentaport Rock Festival.″ At ″POKZOOTIME,″ he showcased ″PunKanon (Extended Ver.)″ to highlight its unique appeal.

Scheduled for release just in time for the summer festival season, ″Punkanon″ will be included in Lee Seung-yoon’s future setlists. On August 11th, he shared a surprise teaser for ″Punkanon″ through his official social media channel, featuring a scene that appeared to be from a music video, further intriguing fans.
