Big Hit Music’s new group, Kortis, is generating buzz ahead of their debut after six years of anticipation. Comprised entirely of teenagers, Kortis is set to debut under the same label as BTS and Tomorrow x Together (TXT). The group aims to showcase their creative talents across various fields, including songwriting, composition, choreography, and videography, with their official debut scheduled for the 18th.

Even before their debut, the members of Kortis have made significant contributions to hit songs by HYBE artists. Martin has credits on TXT’s ″Deja Vu″ and ″Miracle,″ ENHYPEN’s ″Outside,″ Le Seraphim’s ″Pierrot,″ and Illit’s ″Magnetic.″ James has been involved in choreography for ″Deja Vu,″ ″Magnetic,″ and Illit’s ″Cherish,″ collaborating with Martin on several projects. Additionally, Martin appeared as a dancer in BTS’s Jungkook’s ″Seven.″

Member Sunghyun stands out for his extensive experience, having worked on over 100 songs during his trainee days. Joohoon, who previously worked as a child model, has appeared in music videos for VIXX, Zion.T, and MeloMance. With such a talented lineup, Kortis has played a significant role in producing their debut album. The intro track, ″Go!″, showcases the group’s collaborative efforts in writing and composing, featuring a captivating minimal trap rhythm and powerful synthesizer sounds.

Kortis also took on the role of co-director for the ″Go!″ music video. Despite their young age, they exhibit remarkable creativity in both music and video production. Last year, they spent three months in Los Angeles, immersing themselves in the album’s production—a rare opportunity for rookies to participate in an overseas songwriting camp before their debut. As a ″young creator crew,″ they drew inspiration from various urban environments, crafting their music, choreography, and videos to establish their unique style.

The name ″Cortis″ combines six letters from the phrase ″COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES,″ reflecting their philosophy of thinking freely and breaking away from conventional standards. True to their name, the five members—Martin, James, Joo Hoon, Sung Hyun, and Gun Ho—are eager to present their creative work with fresh perspectives and innovative ideas.

Kortis will officially debut on the 18th at 6 PM KST with the release of their title track ″What You Want″ and a conceptual performance film. Their debut album is set to be released on September 8th at 6 PM KST.
