Former S.E.S. member Shoo has shared insights into her relationship with her husband, Lim Hyo-seong. In a recent video on her YouTube channel ″Human That’s Shoo,″ she reflected on her past, stating, ″When I was a teenager, I never imagined I would become a mother of twins. I never even envisioned marriage.″ Shoo expressed that her dreams included opening a cafe with fellow artists in her 40s.
Addressing the question of whether she would return to her younger days, Shoo said, ″People often ask me, ’If you could go back to the old days, would you?’ But I wouldn’t. My values have completely changed over the years. Now, I want to live for myself, not for others.″ She also mentioned her ongoing commitment to volunteering, having completed over 80 hours of community service. ″Some might think it’s pretentious or just a way to promote myself. But it’s something I do from the heart. It’s a precious time that money can’t buy,″ she emphasized.
Shoo shared her feelings about volunteering, saying, ″Whenever I’m going to volunteer, I find myself smiling.″ She recalled her fears about the entertainment industry, admitting, ″In the past, I was so scared of the entertainment industry that I wanted to quit. But at the volunteer work, no one pointed a finger at me. I was grateful that I was a source of comfort to them.″
After a nine-year hiatus, Shoo is resuming her broadcasting career and expressed her nervousness about returning to the public eye. ″Time flies so fast. I worried a lot about whether I could stand in front of the public and whether I would be a burden to the program. Preparing for my first broadcast felt like my first time on stage with S.E.S.,″ she said. She also shared that encouragement from senior colleagues like Ji Seok-jin and Lee Kyung-sil helped boost her confidence.
In a notable moment, Shoo appeared alongside her husband, Lim Hyo-seong, in a Daum video preview. She candidly admitted, ″The word ’couple’ really puts a strain on me. We’ve been married for four years, and we’ve been friends for 11 years. We’re practically strangers, so we rarely fight.″
