[The Fact | Reporter Choi Hyun-jung] Group MONSTA X is signaling their comeback.
Starship Entertainment announced on the 18th, "MONSTA X will release the pre-release track "Do What I Want" from their new mini-album 'THE X' on the 18th at 6 PM through various music streaming sites."
The new song "Do What I Want" is a hip-hop track filled with self-confidence from MONSTA X, who are celebrating their 10th debut anniversary. Despite its minimalist composition, the track features an addictive hook and groovy bass rhythmic drums.
The song was written and composed by member Jooheon, with I.M also contributing lyrics. Monsta X, who has been active in the K-pop scene for 10 years, expressed their raw energy and confidence as "simply strong beings" rather than "trying to look strong," with a refined texture.
The music video, which will be released simultaneously with the song, will capture the spontaneity and directness inherent in the theme of "Do What I Want." Monsta X will also showcase their confidence through the video, making it a fun watch and listen.
The mini-album "The X," which includes "Do What I Want," will be released on September 1st. "The X" is an album that captures Monsta X's 10-year journey. The album title, which signifies "a single, complete unknown," suggests the countless possibilities and new directions within, while also connecting to the Roman numeral X (10).
"The X" will feature a total of six tracks, starting with the pre-released track "Do What I Want," followed by the title track "N the Front," and the b-side tracks "Savior," "Tuscan Leather," "Catch Me Now," and "Fire & Ice."
Monsta X stated through their agency, "We decided to pre-release 'Do What I Want' because we wanted to give Monbebe (our fan club name) a special gift before our comeback on September 1st. The music video also features new sides of ourselves that we've never shown before, along with many fun elements, so we ask for your warm interest and love."
