[The Fact | Reporter Choi Hyun-jung] The group CORTIS has been garnering global attention since their debut.
Japan's public broadcaster NHK announced on the 21st that CORTIS will perform at the "NHK MUSIC SPECIAL NHK MUSIC EXPO LIVE 2025" at Tokyo Dome on November 3rd.
'NHK MUSIC EXPO LIVE 2025' is a large-scale music festival featuring popular Japanese groups like BE:FIRST, Number_i, and CANDY TUNE, as well as top K-pop groups like ENHYPEN, TXT, and KiiiKiii. Cortis was included on the lineup just three days after their debut, demonstrating their high level of interest.
Cortis is particularly garnering enthusiastic responses from Gen-Z fans worldwide. As of 9:00 AM on the 22nd, Kortis had approximately 1.6 million followers on the global short-form video platform TikTok. This is the highest number of followers among any boy group debuting this year, achieved in just two weeks.
Riding this momentum, Kortis will release "What You Want" (feat. Teezo Touchdown) on the 22nd at 1 PM. This song is an English version of his debut album's title track, "What You Want," and features American singer-songwriter Teezo Touchdown, who has collaborated with Tyler, the Creator, Drake, and Travis Scott.
The English version of "What You Want" is even more meaningful as it utilizes a demo recorded in English by Teezo Touchdown and the five members of Cortis at a song camp held in Los Angeles last year.
Meanwhile, Kortis will appear on KBS2's "Music Bank" on the 22nd, MBC's "Show! Music Core" on the 23rd, and SBS's "Inkigayo" on the 24th. Cortis' debut album, 'COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES', will be officially released on September 8th.
