Eunho attempted to force a kiss during an event in Brazil.

Eunho, a member of the boy group YOUNITE, was nearly kissed forcibly by a female fan at an event in Brazil. The incident took place on the 17th during the ″18th Korean Culture Day″ event in São Paulo. Organizers expressed deep regret, labeling the incident as ″sexual harassment.″

Footage from the event shows that as YOUNITE members moved through the crowd, a female fan suddenly reached out to kiss Eunho. Event staff quickly intervened, restraining the woman, while Eunho left the scene with his security team.

The video circulated rapidly among Brazilian fans, igniting controversy. Many local fans condemned the act, stating, ″What the woman did to Eunho is sexual harassment,″ and ″This kind of behavior is absolutely unacceptable.″ Critics described it as ″a clear violation of the artist’s privacy and personal freedom.″ One fan present expressed, ″I felt deep anger.″

The organizing committee released a statement on social media, expressing regret over the incident. They emphasized, ″We deeply regret the sexual harassment incident where a fan attempted to forcibly kiss an artist at the event. We reiterate that sexual harassment of any kind is unacceptable.″ The statement further asserted, ″Any action that violates an individual’s dignity, respect, or safety will never be tolerated,″ and pledged to create a respectful and safe environment for artists, fans, and staff alike.

YOUNITE’s agency, Brand Music, addressed safety concerns, noting that a recent incident occurred when fans approached the artist excessively after a concert, threatening his safety. The agency warned that such behavior poses significant risks not only to the artist but also to all fans present. They urged fans to maintain a safe distance during events, emphasizing the importance of a healthy fan culture.

Eunho shared his feelings about the incident on the fan communication platform ″From,″ stating, ″I was flustered. I thought it was a staff member,″ but reassured fans, ″I dodged it with incredible reflexes. It’s okay.″

This incident underscores the ongoing challenges in the relationship between K-pop artists and their fans. There are increasing calls for heightened awareness regarding artist safety and fan behavior. Ensuring the safety of K-pop artists is crucial, and both agencies and fans must recognize and address this pressing issue.

K-pop artists need to maintain vigilance regarding social distance and safety during overseas performances. This incident serves as a wake-up call for fostering a healthy relationship between artists and fans.
