DIEEIT, a member of the group SEVENTEEN, has released his self-composed song "Star Crossing Night (feat. GALI)." According to his agency Pledis Entertainment on the 29th, DIEEIT released the new song at 11 a.m. through Soda Music, a music platform under China's Douyin. Starting from the 30th, the track will also be available on major domestic and international music platforms such as Melon, Genie, Spotify, and YouTube.
"Star Crossing Night (feat. GALI)" is a song expressing the perspective of a narrator reminiscing about memories of falling in love. DIEEIT participated in writing and composing the song, inspired by the night sky and disappearing shooting stars. The sound combines electronic music and R&B elements with emotional vocals, creating a wistful and dreamy atmosphere. The track features rapper GALI, who ranked third in the Chinese iQIYI hip-hop competition program "Rap of China 2020."
DIEEIT collaborated with Douyin, the largest short-form video platform in China, and Wonderland, a UK-based global fashion and culture magazine, to create "Star Crossing Night (feat. GALI)." Known for his talents not only in dance and singing but also in art and fashion, DIEEIT showcases his comprehensive artistic sensibility through this new release, encompassing both music and visuals.
The cover image released alongside the song captures DIEEIT surrounded by starlight, exuding a fantastic aura. The strong contrast between light and darkness in the visuals adds an artistic and mysterious mood. A concept short in the form of a music film will be released later.
DIEEIT has demonstrated a broad musical spectrum through various songs, including team albums and Chinese digital singles such as "Dreams Come True," "那幕 (Falling Down)," "Side By Side," and "海城 (Hai Cheng)." Last year, he released his first Chinese EP "STARDUST," where he was credited on all tracks, revealing his capabilities as a singer-songwriter.
Along with the release of the new song, DIEEIT has also announced his appearance at a major local music festival. He will perform as the headliner on the final day of the "YJ music festival," held in Beijing, China, on September 20 and 21. This will be DIEEIT's first festival stage as a solo artist. Approximately 60,000 attendees are expected over the two days.
DIEEIT's new song and festival appearance are expected to further solidify his position as an artist. His musical growth has attracted significant attention from fans and the public, raising expectations for his future activities.
