'Mantra' and 'Like Jennie' Receive Gold Certifications from the Recording Industry Association of America

[The Fact | Reporter Choi Hyun-jung] Singer Jennie has added a new record to her K-pop solo artist list.

The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) announced on its official website on the 26th (local time) that Jennie's single "Mantra" and the title track "Like Jennie" from her first solo album "Ruby" have received gold certifications.

This brings Jennie's total RIAA certifications to three, the most for a K-pop solo artist. Jennie previously earned platinum certification for her collaboration with The Weeknd and Lily-Rose Depp, "One of the Girls."

Jennie has been setting various records with her first solo album, "Ruby," released in March. "Ruby" recorded the highest initial sales (661,130 copies) among K-pop female solo artists this year, and the songs "Like JENNIE," "Mantra," "Love Hangover" (feat. Dominic Fike), "ExtraL" (feat. Deutsch), and "Handlebars" (feat. Dua Lipa) from "Ruby" entered the Billboard Hot 100.

Meanwhile, the RIAA awards certifications based on digital single and album sales: Gold (over 500,000 units), Platinum (over 1 million units), Multi-Platinum (over 2 million units), and Diamond (over 10 million units). Unit counting is weighted by album sales (physical and digital), digital downloads, and audio and video streaming.
