aespa, solo concert filled with performances of new song 'Rich Man'

The girl group aespa is making a comeback on the 5th with their new song "Rich Man." Ahead of this, aespa successfully held their third solo concert "SYNK: aeXIS LINE" at the KSPO Dome in Olympic Park, Seoul, from the 29th to the 31st of last month, attracting about 30,000 fans. The concert lasted about three hours, during which aespa performed a total of 26 songs.

The concert began with the members suspended in the air. aespa performed "Armageddon," the title track of their first full album, as the opening song. They then sang "Set the tone" and "Drift" consecutively, emphasizing communication with their fans. Karina said, "The three-day performance flew by quickly. Please continue to have fun with us until the very end."

During this performance, the title track and other songs from the mini-album "Rich Man," which will be released on the 5th, were revealed for the first time. Previously, aespa emphasized a hip-hop-based "metallic sound" through "Supernova" and "Whiplash," but this new song features a band sound highlighted by electronic guitar playing. As the intro of the new song played, fans cheered in unison, filling the venue. At the center of the stage, a set of money bundles stacked in a pyramid shape and devices shooting flames were installed, emphasizing the message of self-esteem and self-love in "Rich Man."

aespa set the theme of the concert as "center." The concert title "aeXIS LINE" was inspired by the "axis," symbolizing their determination to maintain their subjectivity and identity amid the temptations and challenges of the world. Karina explained, "'Axis' means the central axis. We prepared this with the meaning of finding aespa's center together with our fans." Winter added, "We organized this concert with the mindset of giving a gift to our fans. We hope our gift reaches your center well."

The four-member, four-color stages highlighting each member's individuality also caught attention. Karina performed "GOOD STUFF" in a school look, Ningning showcased a dreamy charm with "Ketchup And Lemonade," Giselle introduced "Tornado," which she participated in writing and composing, saying, "I've loved the sea since I was young. I was inspired when I went to Okinawa." Winter took the standing microphone and introduced "BLUE," which she wrote the lyrics for herself with a rockstar vibe, saying, "I hope this song can be a comfort to you."

In the latter part of the concert, aespa's hit songs were lined up one after another, raising the energy level. Two hours into the performance, they sang "Next Level," "Supernova," "Whiplash," and "Girls" consecutively, leading fans to sing along loudly. The concert ended with the final song "To the Girls."

Attending the concert to support aespa were Taeyeon of Girls' Generation, Irene and Seulgi of Red Velvet, Miyeon of (G)I-DLE, Kina of Fifty Fifty, Hyeri, BIBI, and others, who are leading the K-pop girl group market alongside aespa. Through communication with their fans, aespa emphasized the meaning of the concert and heightened expectations for their future activities.
