Chaemin Lee draws attention with praise for her portrayal of the tyrant King Heon in her first historical drama role

Actor Lee Chae-min is receiving praise for taking on his first historical drama. He is passionately portraying Crown Prince Lee Heon in the tvN weekend drama "The Tyrant's Chef." Lee Chae-min captivates viewers by switching between the tyrant's charisma and vivid eating scenes.

To embody the character, Lee Chae-min thoroughly prepared by practicing horseback riding, archery, swordsmanship, and even learning the Cheoyongmu dance. Director Jang Tae-yoo, who is in charge of the production, expressed his trust in Lee Chae-min, saying, "He delivers delicate acting with a Superman-like physique and a strong voice. He is a hardworking actor with an even more promising future."

The character Lee Heon offers unexpected twists with his unpredictable actions. He strongly pressures old officials opposing the king's orders by asserting royal authority, revealing his tyrannical side as he enforces his will. He also engages in a battle of principles with Queen Dowager Inju, the highest elder of the royal family, who intends to test Yeon Ji-young's qualifications as the head royal chef. The tension rises as the loser of the contest threatens to cut off their arm.

Lee Heon falls into a panic due to Kang Mok-joo, who talks about his deceased mother. His reddened eyes hint at deep-seated wounds within. Although he is a tyrant no one in the royal family can control, the process of his gradual change through Yeon Ji-young's cooking brings excitement to viewers. From their first meeting to their time in the palace, he loses his royal dignity and bickers with Yeon Ji-young, creating moments of laughter.

Despite constantly threatening with "Do you want to die?" every day, Lee Heon becomes completely absorbed in the taste of the food Yeon Ji-young prepares. With his absolute palate, he accurately identifies the intended flavors and bursts into hearty laughter imagining deer running in the meadow while eating venison. Especially, the scene where he recalls his mother while watching Yeon Ji-young feed him hints that his heart is already melting toward her.

At the end of episode 4, Lee Heon, trying to soothe his loneliness with alcohol, unexpectedly kisses Yeon Ji-young first. His sorrowful gaze deeply moves viewers and raises curiosity about his true feelings. The various facets of Lee Heon's character are portrayed more attractively through Lee Chae-min's delicate acting.

A new turning point between Lee Heon and Yeon Ji-young is anticipated after their kiss. The romance of Lee Heon, brought to life by Lee Chae-min's passion and effort, is highly anticipated. "The Tyrant's Chef" airs on the 6th at 9:10 PM.
