
Disney+'s new series "Polaris" will premiere on the 10th. The work consists of nine episodes and features many famous actors, including Jun Ji-hyun and Kang Dong-won. On the 5th, the production team released the second set of stills, promising a thrilling development and various entertainments.
"Polaris" tells the story of UN ambassador Moon-joo (played by Jun Ji-hyun) who investigates the background of the presidential candidate shooting incident. Moon-joo, along with a special agent of unknown nationality, San-ho (played by Kang Dong-won), faces a huge truth threatening the Korean Peninsula. The released stills show Moon-joo exuding strong charisma in front of the public. Jun Ji-hyun reveals a unique presence through this character, heralding the birth of a new iconic role.
San-ho maintains a sharp gaze to protect Moon-joo and tries not to miss even the smallest danger. Their relationship forms tension and chemistry in a complex situation where they must overcome crises while doubting each other. Besides Moon-joo and San-ho, several other characters appear in the stills. Anderson Miller (played by John Cho) hints at the reality of secrets with a serious expression. Moon-joo's aide Mi-ji (played by Lee Sang-hee) and chief of security Chang-hee (played by Joo Jong-hyuk) struggle amid terrorist threats, adding urgency to the story.
Additionally, Ok-seon (played by Lee Mi-sook) reveals her power by putting a watch on Chang-hee. Gyeong-shin (played by Kim Hae-sook) exudes presidential charisma, and National Intelligence Service director Un-hak (played by Yoo Jae-myung) creates tension through a secret phone call. Next presidential candidate Jun-ik (played by Park Hae-joon) and prosecutor Jun-sang (played by Oh Jung-se) also harbor different purposes and secrets.
The production team explained, "'Polaris' is a complex genre work encompassing espionage, politics, romance, and mystery." They emphasized focusing on the tension created by multi-layered characters and unpredictable developments.
"Polaris" will release the first three episodes on the 10th, followed by two episodes weekly starting from the 17th. This series is expected to provide viewers with an engaging experience through its thrilling story and diverse characters.
