[The Fact | Reporter Park Ji-yoon] BLACKPINK member Rosé has truly done it.

On the 8th (Korean time), Rosé won Song of the Year for her collaboration with Bruno Mars, "APT.", at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards (MTV VMAs) held at the UBS Arena in New York City. With this win, she became the first K-pop artist to win in that category.

Rosé, who took the stage in a gold dress, said, "I can't believe it. I'm so grateful to Bruno Mars for believing in me and supporting me. I'm so happy to receive this award, as it's a moment where all my hard work is rewarded."

Rosé also expressed her overwhelming emotions in Korean, saying, "Teddy oppa and the members of BLACKPINK, I received this award. I'm always grateful and I love you."

The MTV VMAs, which began in 1984, are considered one of the four major American pop music awards ceremonies, along with the Grammy Awards, Billboard Music Awards, and American Music Awards.

Rosé was nominated for a total of eight categories at this year's MTV VMAs, including "Song of the Year," "Video of the Year," "Best Collaboration," "Best Pop," "Best Direction," "Best Art Direction," "Best Visual Effects," and "Best K-Pop."

Released in October of last year, "APT." broke records not only in Korea but also on charts in Asia, Europe, and North America, and stayed on Billboard's main music chart, the "HOT 100," for 41 consecutive weeks. Rosé then demonstrated her exceptional prowess by winning "Song of the Year" at the MTV VMAs.

Rosé kicked off her world tour with Blackpink's solo concert 'Deadline' at Goyang Sports Complex Main Stadium on July 5th and 6th, and is currently actively promoting Blackpink's new single 'JUMP', which was released on July 11th.
