Song Joong-ki, the best moments with family... the golden age of life

Actors Song Joong-ki and Chun Woo-hee appeared on the YouTube variety show 'Narae-sik' and shared their thoughts on their current lives. In the broadcast on September 10, the two talked about their recent happy times. When MC Park Narae asked, "When was the youth, the prime of your life?" Song Joong-ki replied, "The commonly referred age of youth has passed, but I feel that now is the happiest time." He added, "I have a family now, a proper sense of responsibility, and I think I've gained the inner strength to manage it. The fact that I have to take responsibility for someone is exciting and gives me more motivation in life."

Song Joong-ki married British actress Katy Louise Saunders in 2023, and they had a son the same year and a daughter the following year. He said, "There are many moments when I feel detailed gratitude in various aspects."

Chun Woo-hee mentioned that the present is just the beginning. She said, "In my twenties, I wandered not knowing what I was good at or who I was," adding, "In my thirties, I developed the will to try something, and now, approaching my forties, I look forward to discovering what I like, what I'm good at, and what is meaningful and fun in life."

Song Joong-ki and Chun Woo-hee are co-starring in the JTBC drama 'My Youth.' The drama portrays the emotional romance between Sunwoo Hae, who started an ordinary life later than others, and Sung Jae-yeon, who unexpectedly has to break the peace of her first love.

During the show, Song Joong-ki tasted the galbijjim and yeonpotang prepared by Park Narae and said, "I've been overseas for months, so this is my first Korean meal. That makes it even more exciting." He added, "It's been a week since I arrived in the country, but I hadn't eaten Korean food." Park Narae complimented their youthful appearances, saying, "You look like you're in your early to mid-twenties." Chun Woo-hee shyly responded, "I look younger than my real age, but I'm not that young." Song Joong-ki said, "I used to say 'Oh dear,' but now I think I'm getting older. I really like that phrase."

Song Joong-ki revealed that he is the same age as Park Narae and that they live in the same neighborhood. He said, "I sometimes pass by Narae's house when I go for walks. I tend to walk a lot." However, Park Narae responded, "I usually go out between midnight and 3 a.m."

Chun Woo-hee shared an episode about going to a club. She said, "I really wanted to rebel. I wanted to have fun, so I went to a bar at night after having dinner around 6 or 7, then went to a club at 9." However, she waited until the club got crowded but left at midnight because she was too tired, expressing her regret.

Both Song Joong-ki and Chun Woo-hee share the common background of having been vice presidents of their student councils. Chun Woo-hee admitted, "But I wasn't a very model student," while Song Joong-ki said, "I was a boring model student." He revealed that as soon as he entered university, he wanted to rebel and distanced himself from studying, receiving an academic warning. Later, through a senior in a club at Sungkyunkwan University, he started working as an extra and began his path in acting.

Chun Woo-hee joined her high school drama club because she wanted to be with her friends and later majored in theater and film. However, she said, "At school, everyone drank a lot. At first, it was fun because it was new, but it only lasted a month," adding, "I couldn't adapt, stopped attending school, and also received an academic warning."

While introducing 'My Youth,' which tells a story about first love, Park Narae asked the two how they would act if they had a chance to meet their first love. Chun Woo-hee answered, "I don't think I would look for my first love," explaining why she gave up on a crush she had for a year in the first grade of middle school.

Song Joong-ki said, "Although the age commonly called youth has passed, I think the prime of life is when one feels full happiness, and I don't think I've ever been this happy before." He added, "I have a family, a proper sense of responsibility, and I think I've gained some inner strength to control it." Song Joong-ki emphasized that the excitement of having to take responsibility for someone gives him more motivation in life.
