Seventeen member Hoshi will release a solo song on the day he enlists as an active-duty soldier in the army on the 16th. According to Pledis Entertainment, Hoshi will unveil his new song "TAKE A SHOT" at 6 p.m. on various online music platforms.
"TAKE A SHOT" is a hip-hop track based on the rage genre, characterized by an intense atmosphere. In this song, Hoshi delivers powerful and seasoned rap, blending diverse synth sounds and guitar performances to create a heavy yet driving sense of vitality. Hoshi also participated in writing the lyrics, expressing his burning passion through the words. The song commemorates his 10th anniversary since debut and conveys his determination and aspirations as he embarks on a new chapter.
This year, Hoshi demonstrated his wide musical spectrum by releasing the special unit BSS (Seungkwan, DK, Hoshi) single album "TELEPARTY," the Hoshi x Woozi single album "BEAM," and Seventeen's fifth full album "HAPPY BURSTDAY." From July to August, Hoshi and Woozi held 11 fan concerts across five cities domestically and internationally, attracting over 100,000 attendees.
As a solo artist, Hoshi has also been steadily building his career, releasing the 2021 mixtape "Spider," personal tracks uploaded on YouTube such as "I Want You Back," "STAY," "Tiger (Feat. Tiger JK)," "Tiger Power," and the Seventeen fifth full album track "Damage (HOSHI Solo) (feat. Timbaland)."
On the day of his enlistment, Hoshi will enter the military training center to undergo basic military training. He is the fourth Seventeen member to enlist, following Jeonghan and Wonwoo, who are currently fulfilling their military duties, and Woozi, who has already enlisted as an active-duty soldier.
Hoshi's solo song release is regarded as a special gift for fans who will miss his absence. In addition to Seventeen's activities, he continues to communicate with fans through various musical endeavors, drawing attention to his future path.
