The World Music Awards (WMA) announced the streaming figures for 'GOLDEN' through their official account. This album is the first by an Asian solo artist to achieve such a milestone and recorded 6.1 billion streams in the shortest period among full-length albums by Asian artists.
Since its release on November 3, 2023, 'GOLDEN' recorded 39,653,740 streams on Spotify on its first day alone. This is the highest streaming count on the release day for a K-pop solo artist's album. On the release date, the Spotify 'Daily Top Songs Global' chart ranked 'Seven' at number 1, 'Standing Next to You' at number 2, '3D' at number 7, 'Hate You' at number 16, 'Yes or No' at number 18, 'Please Don't Change' at number 23, 'Closer to You' at number 24, 'Somebody' at number 27, 'Shot Glass of Tears' at number 28, and 'Too Sad To Dance' at number 29. Thus, all 10 tracks from the album ranked within the top positions on the chart.
Additionally, 'GOLDEN' debuted at number 2 on Spotify's 'Weekly Top Albums Global' chart and remained in the top 5 for five consecutive weeks and in the top 10 for six consecutive weeks. The album set a record as the first album by an Asian solo artist to enter the 'Weekly Top Albums Global' chart for 97 consecutive weeks. 'GOLDEN' also ranked number 1 on Spotify's 'Top Album Debut Global,' 'Top Album Debut US,' and 'Top Album Debut UK' charts.
On Apple Music, 'GOLDEN' has maintained its popularity on global charts by charting for over 600 days on the 'Worldwide' chart and over 500 days on the 'European Albums' chart. On the US music media Billboard's main album chart, the 'Billboard 200,' it debuted at number 2 and became the first album by an Asian solo artist to chart for 24 consecutive weeks. On the UK Official main album chart 'Top 100,' it stayed for eight weeks, the longest period for a K-pop solo artist.
According to the domestic album sales tracking site Hanteo Chart, 'GOLDEN' sold 2 million copies within five hours of release, immediately becoming a 'Double Million Seller.' On the release day, it set a record for the highest first-week sales for a K-pop solo artist. Within two weeks of release, a total of 2,501,158 copies were sold, marking the first solo album to sell over 2.5 million copies in 13 years since Hanteo Chart revised its tracking method in 2010.
These records demonstrate the significant impact of Jungkook's solo activities on the K-pop market. 'GOLDEN' is receiving high attention and love from fans worldwide, and it is expected that these achievements will continue.
