Singer Nam Woo-hyun has been cast in the musical "Sugar." Nam Woo-hyun will play the role of Jo (Josephine) in the Broadway-style show musical "Sugar," which will have its Korean premiere on December 12 at the Seoul KEPCO Art Center Grand Theater.

The musical "Sugar" is based on the classic comedy film "Some Like It Hot," which has been loved worldwide. Set during the Prohibition era of 1929, the story humorously depicts the chaotic events that unfold when two jazz musicians accidentally witness a gang murder and disguise themselves as women to join an all-female band in order to save their lives. The original film made a significant impact with its ahead-of-its-time humor and gender codes, ranking first on the American Film Institute's (AFI) list of the greatest comedy films of all time.

This Korean premiere offers a fresh, modern interpretation of the classic story. The show musical features dazzling stage production, rich live music, and witty dialogue, guiding the audience into a retro mood of the early 20th century. Nam Woo-hyun takes on the role of Jo (Josephine), a romantic saxophonist who cross-dresses to survive.
