BTS's Jimin is achieving remarkable success on the US Billboard charts and Billboard Japan charts. According to the US music media Billboard, Jimin's song "Who" rose 13 spots to rank 109 on the Billboard Global 200 chart and 77 on the Global (excluding US) chart as of the September 27 issue. "Who" has previously reached number one twice on these two charts and continues to remain on the charts even 14 months after its release on July 19, 2023.
"Who" tied with the title track "Like Crazy" from Jimin's first album FACE, which holds the record for the longest-charting K-pop solo song on the Billboard Global 200 chart. Both songs have attracted attention for achieving these results solely through the capabilities of a solo artist without collaborations with famous Western artists.
Jimin's second album MUSE has recorded eight number-one positions on the Billboard World Albums chart, making it the first and only K-pop solo album to do so. This week, MUSE ranked eighth, marking its 61st consecutive week on the chart and continuing the second-longest charting record following the 63-week record of the first album FACE.
On the September 24 Billboard Japan Hot 100 chart, "Who" re-entered at number 81, achieving a total of 38 weeks on the chart. This made it the first and only K-pop solo song to spend 38 weeks on this chart since BoA's "Merry Chri." Additionally, it re-entered the Billboard Japan Streaming Songs chart at number 74, setting a record of 55 weeks on the chart.
Through these achievements, Jimin is further expanding his influence in the global music market. His music is loved by many fans worldwide beyond K-pop, and this is regarded as an example demonstrating the potential of K-pop solo artists. Jimin's continuous chart success serves as an important indicator proving his musical talent and the support of his fans.
