
Singer Koo Jun-yup has been guarding the grave of the late Seo Hee-won for seven months since her passing. Recently, Koo Jun-yup visited the Jinbosan Cemetery in Taiwan and worked on sketches next to Seo Hee-won's grave. Expressing his longing for the late Seo Hee-won, Koo Jun-yup revealed in an interview with the media, "Of course, I often dream about her." This was his first public emotional statement since Seo Hee-won passed away.
Since losing Seo Hee-won last February, Koo Jun-yup has frequently visited Jinbosan Cemetery to keep vigil. He spent about an hour at his wife's grave, expressing his longing. According to local media, Koo Jun-yup is preparing a statue of Seo Hee-won and is communicating with acquaintances for this purpose. Seo Hee-won's mother said, "The statue will be made based on a drawing by my son-in-law, and it will be beautifully completed."
Koo Jun-yup and Seo Hee-won dated in 1998 but broke up. They reunited and married in 2022, more than 20 years later. However, Seo Hee-won passed away from acute pneumonia during a trip to Japan last year. Since then, Koo Jun-yup has stopped all activities and continues his life by staying beside Seo Hee-won's grave.
Koo Jun-yup majored in industrial design at university, and Seo Hee-won was an actress and singer who gained great love across Asia as the female lead in the Taiwanese version of "Boys Over Flowers." After Seo Hee-won's death, Koo Jun-yup has been visiting her grave frequently to keep her memory alive and plans to honor her memory through the creation of the statue.
