Seventeen's new special unit S.Coups X Mingyu's mini album 1st release 'HYPE VIBES' continues to receive praise from major foreign media. The British music magazine NME described S.Coups X Mingyu's new album as "unpredictable" in a review published on September 29 (local time). Contrary to expectations that 'HYPE VIBES' would have a strong hip-hop color, NME called it a curveball album, stating, "They do not confine themselves to a box and show new sides that surprise everyone."

The British pop culture magazine DAZED also compared the intense image of S.Coups and Mingyu's 5th full album with the free-spirited atmosphere of 'HYPE VIBES,' mentioning, "They filled the album with various genres they love without being bound by anything." Foreign media evaluated that their new album shows a new chemistry unique to the two.

The American music magazine Rolling Stone said, "Seventeen's various unit groups show deeper synergy among members," explaining that although S.Coups and Mingyu have closely collaborated as members of Seventeen's hip-hop team, this unit takes that relationship to the next level. Billboard Philippines also evaluated 'HYPE VIBES' as a result that condenses a unique chemistry between the two, different from Seventeen.

The album contains a total of six tracks, including the title track "5, 4, 3 (Pretty woman) (feat. Lay Bankz)," and the members participated in writing and composing all the songs. They expressed the diverse "now" in everyday life with their own tastes and sensibilities. 'HYPE VIBES' sold over 600,000 copies on the day of release, setting the record for the highest first-day sales of a K-pop unit album.

The title track "5, 4, 3 (Pretty woman) (feat. Lay Bankz)" ranked first on Bugs real-time chart immediately after release, and all the tracks, including the title track, entered Melon's "Top 100." S.Coups X Mingyu are communicating with fans through various activities to celebrate the release of 'HYPE VIBES.'

They appeared on the web variety show "Hong Seok-cheon's Jewel Box Season 4" on September 30, showcasing their wit, and released "THE VIBERS #1 OUR STORY IN EVERY VIBE," which covers the album production process, on Seventeen's official YouTube channel, revealing their artistic side. On October 2, they are scheduled to perform their new song for the first time on Mnet's "M Countdown."

Through 'HYPE VIBES,' S.Coups X Mingyu continue to pursue new musical challenges, and their activities are attracting great attention from K-pop fans.
